This is a great opportunity to join a Market-Leading Engineering business in the Preston area, specialising in the Mining industry. This well-established company has a strong, stable history in drilling/tooling for the mining sector and has national plants.
They seek a Graduate Mechanical Engineer with SolidWorks skills, disciplines, and capabilities to reverse engineer products and equipment for the mining industry. This is project-based work.
This role will involve various tasks such as reverse engineering, innovation and problem-solving at all levels, Developing, scoping, planning and managing new projects from concept to product, and Reviewing current drawings, programs and production methodology, including QC.
You will work for many industries with a large amount from the Mining sector. You will use SolidWorks and PDM, and sometimes you will be hands-on using a spanner. We need an engineer who can redesign/design and, on the odd occasion, use hand tools.
This is a permanent full-time position. Medical and police checks are involved.
TO APPLY YOU SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS
- Mechanical Engineer Qualifications
- Experience with project work
- Proven ability to work autonomously
- Basic knowledge of Manufacturing
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
