A rewarding opportunity currently exists for aMechanical Engineer to join our Sibanye Stillwater Australia team.
This position will be offered as a 15/13-day shift working roster (FIFO), located at our Century Mine (Lawn Hill).
Purpose:
- Provide Engineering support to the Century, Pipeline and Karumba operations through the provision of technical support and project execution.
- Facilitate the execution of growth and sustaining projects through the complete project lifecycle.
- Drive engineering workflow system to ensure task completion meets stakeholder requirements.
- Develop improvement initiatives to increase operational efficiency and productivity
- Assist Managers in management for capital projects.
- Provide new works engineering inspections, scoping, auditing, and delivery processes
- Support the Project Team to ensure that the Contractor(s) used by the Company diligently and comprehensively carry out their required scopes of work.
Key accountabilities include:
- Communicated with stakeholders to develop and execute projects in line with New Century business requirements.
- Implementation of the Capital Project portfolio
- Analyse project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design works.
- Create and finalize designs to meet project requirements.
- Create accurate Bill of Materials.
- Manage Project document and drawings control
- Support manufacture, build and validation of systems
- Manage the technical aspects of each work pack are clear, aligned with QA/QC standards and all drawings delivered
- Manage individual project costs, track variations and recommend corrective action as required
- Provide a focal point for technical based queries from the client or suppliers
- Proved support to project management team during project design, scoping, execution, commissioning and handover stage gates
- Ensuring that quality requirements of the client are adhered to
- Review Inspection and Test Plans and other project specific procedures
- Reviews bids from contractors
- Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance

- Completes technical studies
- Prepares cost estimates
- Prepares project status reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions
- Ensure projects are compliant with relevant Australian standards, and regulatory laws.

- Tertiary education degree in Engineering related discipline
- PMI or equivalent Certification
- Current C Class Driver’s license
