We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Designer / Industrial Designer to join our R&D team located at our HQ in Malaga, WA.

What you will be working onOur engineering teams design IoT Smart Lockers, Charging Carts and Charging Lockers using modern tools. Our Mechanical Engineers work as part of a team alongside Electronics Engineers, Software Developers, Designers and Product Managers.
Our teams share customer goals and work together across disciplines to solve customer problems. This means you would work on the problem from the start, and be involved in solving and delivering the solutions. We are in a fast moving industry, so we focus on giving our teams the tools and space to innovate and deliver on what our customers need.
Role requirements- Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or equivalent.
- 3+ years commercial experience in Mechanical Design Engineering role.
- Sound knowledge 3D CAD Modelling. Solidworks is highly preferred.
- Hardware product design experience, ideally from concept through to production for mass manufacturing.
- Capable of doing DFM (Design For Manufacture) to take a design to the level of mass production
- Follow good engineering practices and processes.
- Willingness to work closely with other disciplines to understand customer problems and solve them together.
- Willing to work across the whole product lifecycle, including design, certification and DFM.
- Experience with Solidworks PDM, and project tools such as Jira and Miro
- Experience working with contract manufacturers
- A keen eye for aesthetics will be highly valuable, may fit someone with a background or interest in Industrial Design
- Experience working with CNC machines (Laser cutter or brake press) is highly desirable.
- Ability to create product illustrations, using tools such as Solidworks Composers will be highly valuable to design our product manuals and marketing materials
- Prototyping skills - knowledge of basic metal fabrication techniques to quickly produce physical prototypes.
- Knowledge of sheet metal design principles.
- Knowledge of designs for plastics. Experience with designs for injection moulding is highly desirable.
