We are currently recruiting for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Adelaide at Innovation House in Mawson Lakes.
In this role you will:
- Conduct Analysis of operational and maintenance data to identify Sovereign Capability opportunities
- Assist with assessment of suppliers/service providers
- Conduct small to medium localised engineering activities.
- Conduct and support the definition, testing and evaluation of designs.
- Conduct and support component design.
- Assess conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
- Contribute to the development and management of a technical support network.
- Define and manage the work of assigned internal and external resources.
- Provide requirements management for technical projects.
- Provide technical input for tenders.
- Provide professional engineering advice and authorisation within assigned technical delegations.
- Define and support technical and design reviews.
- Provide support and advice to other technical resources.
- Develop and review documentation such as specifications, test procedures, maintenance instructions, drawings, defective material & design reports and engineering technical reports.
- Lead technical problem solving activities using robust processes.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering.
- Eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
- Well-developed interpersonal, communication and team work skills.
- Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
- Experience in heavy armoured vehicles
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Experience working within a Defence project environment is desirable.
- Experience with systems engineering development lifecycle is desirable.
