We are currently recruiting for a qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Adelaide at Innovation House in Mawson Lakes. 

In this role you will:

• Conduct Analysis of operational and maintenance data to identify Sovereign Capability opportunities
• Assist with assessment of suppliers/service providers
• Conduct small to medium localised engineering activities. 
• Conduct and support the definition, testing and evaluation of designs.
• Conduct and support component design.
• Assess conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
• Contribute to the development and management of a technical support network.
• Define and manage the work of assigned internal and external resources.
• Provide requirements management for technical projects.
• Provide technical input for tenders.
• Provide professional engineering advice and authorisation within assigned technical delegations.
• Define and support technical and design reviews.
• Provide support and advice to other technical resources.
• Develop and review documentation such as specifications, test procedures, maintenance instructions, drawings, defective material & design reports and engineering technical reports.
• Lead technical problem solving activities using robust processes.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering. 
• Eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.
• Well-developed interpersonal, communication and team work skills.
• Ability to gain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
• Experience in heavy armoured vehicles
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience working within a Defence project environment is desirable.
• Experience with systems engineering development lifecycle is desirable.
