The opportunity:

Visy Glass is Australia and New Zealand's largest manufacturer of recycled glass bottles and jars consisting of 5 plants across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to Head of Engineering, this pivotal role will lead technical direction set by Visy Glass, and drive and carry out end to end project engineering activities for major projects.  Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Lead and manage a team of Mechanical Engineers and Designers throughout the entire project lifecycle.
• Facilitate the engineering design and development associated with major upgrades, modifications, and extensions to the process in the areas of Mechanical Engineering. 
• Develop scope of work and cost estimates for major projects.
• Assist with the procurement process for equipment and services.
• Assist with commissioning and execution of capital works.
• Finalising documentation of plant and equipment changes because of capital works.

 What you will bring to the team:

• Mechanical Engineering degree and Charted Engineering Status or ability to become.
• Extensive experience in a project engineering role, preferably in the glass industry or similar heavy industry, preferably a 24/7 continuous process operation.
• Broad based experience in Mechanical Engineering, design, installation, and problem solving.
• Strong leadership and experience managing technical teams.
• Effective in communication and stakeholder management 
• Competent in use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Experience in AutoCAD designer.
• Please note that work related travel will be required for this position (Australia and NZ).
