The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and machinery to ensure their safe and efficient operation. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Skills: Perform thorough inspections of vehicles or machinery to identify mechanical, electrical, or other issues affecting performance. Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately.
Repair and Maintenance: Conduct repairs and maintenance tasks on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components according to manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines. This includes replacing worn-out parts, adjusting systems, and testing functionality.
Troubleshooting: Analyze diagnostic test results and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues. Recommend appropriate repair solutions and estimate repair costs and time required.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Ensure all work performed is documented accurately for compliance and historical reference.
Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working with hazardous materials and operating heavy equipment. Ensure all repairs and maintenance meet industry standards and legal requirements.
Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand their vehicle or equipment issues, provide repair recommendations, and explain work performed. Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Coordinate with other mechanics, technicians, and support staff to complete repairs efficiently. Communicate effectively within the team to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience as a mechanic with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various types of vehicles or machinery.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous in inspecting and repairing components to ensure reliability and safety.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with customers and team members.
- Tools and Equipment: Familiarity with tools, diagnostic equipment, and software used in vehicle and equipment repair.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
