Our Site Services staff conduct site investigations to collect, document and provide details of site conditions. We also give construction and other related advice to builders, developers, project managers, earthmoving and civil contractors, owner builders and home owners.
The Opportunity
A residential driller is out and about on their own for most of the day so 'self-starter' describes what we're looking for. Our field techs deal with clients from time to time, so experience with keeping your cool and a good communicator will be a big help. And of course, you'll be driving around in a drill rig most of the time, so a manual driver's licence is a must. In this role, you will need:
- Minimum 1-year experience as site technician AS2870.
- Ability to provide site classification and soil assessment to AS1726 and AS2870;
- A White Card;
- Manage time and responsibilities;
- Very strong workplace safety awareness and understanding of corporate and site health and safety requirements;
- Basic numeracy skills;
- Physical fitness to a level that will allow you to operate and maintain equipment such as a drill rig safely and competently.
- Technical aptitude to analyse and document a variety of soil types.
- Maintaining the drill rig and associated tools/equipment in accordance with Structerre company policy.
- Maintaining equipment and notifying the right people of necessary maintenance requirements.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience doing residential drilling in Victoria . This position is part of our Site Services team, who are generally on the road all day visiting building sites in Gippsland area or Melbourne North (eg: Kalkallo, Wollert, Donnybrook, etc)
So among other things, you'll be:
- Obtaining soil samples using a drill rig or hand auger, ensuring samples are labelled and logged in accordance with AS2870 and AS1726;
- Sketching site plans;
- Living or willing to move to Gippsland area (eg: Warragul, Trafalgar, Moe)
- Willing to learn Surveying on vacant blocks and to do drilling for site classification.
- Australian manual driver’s licence
