Category 5 Labour Management are proud to partner with our client who are seeking urgent applications for Mechanical Estimator's within their teams in Gladstone. This position will be Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week and a Full Time Permanent duration, direct with the client.
Responsibilities will include:
- Working within capabilities, the customer requirements and converting inquiries into potential jobs for both new and existing customers.
- Preparing and submitting proposals to customers, involves effective communication with the customer, material suppliers, subcontractors and internally within the departments.
- To effectively plan, implement and review technical services to ensure that all services are performed in compliance with requirements and are completed in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
- Reviewing and analysing customer requests, including Scope of Works, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility of the request, (e.g., material costs & productive requirements) to manufacture, fabricate or refurbish.
- Accurately engineering and raising specialised job cards in a timely manner.
- Preparing quotations and estimates for the Gladstone workshop in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
- Accurately and timely provision of relevant drawings, inspection documents and work procedures to achieve production targets.
- Updating documents and storing information in the correct files and as per QA requirements.
- Ensuring drawings are user-friendly, accurate, and meet the engineering standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards and Gladstone policies and work procedures.
- Maintaining optimum communication with staff, suppliers, and customers.
- Planning and prioritising work in the workshop to meet delivery dates committed to the customer.
- Liaising with the customer, getting feedback on quotes, and measuring the win/loss and the quote competitiveness within the current market.
- Attending the team meetings each week or as required.
- Complying with Quality, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Participating in the continual improvement of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems by giving feedback on the organisation.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Diploma of Engineering (desirable)
- Trade Qualification – Mechanical (Fitter / Fitter & Turner)
- 5 - 10 years’ experience essential
