Due to continuous growth, we have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Mechanical Fitter to join us in delivering innovative solutions and high-quality services to our clients.
The Role:
Site based role (FIFO) opportunity.
We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be required to work unsupervised or in teams to assist in completing projects and maintenance type works in a safe & timely manner. It is expected that in this role you will be able to provide leadership and guidance to other workers and contractors to the business. A key part of the role is communicating directly with clients, you are expected to demonstrate a safe and competent persona and maintain high standards of personal appearance at all times. The Mechanical Fitter will work closely with our engineering and production teams to ensure optimal functionality of our machinery and equipment.
Duties and Skills to include (but not limited to):
- Perform construction and maintenance-based activities with a focus on maintaining safety and maximising quality of the end product in every objective:
- Plan, schedule and organise own work within the requirements of the tasks assigned to you and coordinate with other parties and clients as required
- Complete tasks assigned on the basis of priority and plan your workload accordingly
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with quality requirements, company policy and all statutory requirements
- Compile all documentation related to your works in an organised and efficient manner
- Resolve operational or technical problems to ensure all works are completed in the best possible timeframe maintaining the highest levels of quality without compromising safety:
- Provide trouble-shooting expertise as required
- Assess and arrange job requirements
- Create material lists related to your works
- Provide daily feedback and reports to Line Managers on progress and work completed against schedule and reasons for variance, recording delays and recommending action to eliminate future delays
- Ensure any client requests for additional works are discussed with your line manager prior to any discussions around costs and staging of works

- Ensure mechanical work is performed in accordance with safety requirements

- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement and assist in the development of job procedures as required.
- Supervise apprentices and other workers when assigned
- Contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the team, including maintaining punctuality, participating in flexible hours arrangements and occasions of after-hours works, regional site works and providing shift cover as required
- Ensures personnel and project are complying with EIG and clients’ policies and Workplace health and safety legislative requirements
- Assists workplace health and safety advisor on any HSE issues or concerns as well as Injury Management in relation to the project or maintenance works
You will need:
- Engineering Tradesperson (Fabrication) Licence or similar
- Construction “White” Card
- Senior First Aid with CPR
- MR Licence
- Forklift Licence
- Working at Heights
