Mechanical Fitter

We are looking for Experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team on a casual basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise with Fixed Plant and conveyors.

PROMET is a national conveyor component and accessory specialist based in Bassendean, operating in the resource industry. We mobilise our teams to various sites throughout Australia to maintain, install, and service equipment.

As a trusted Australian conveyor component specialist, we collaborate closely with mining and mineral processing sites to enhance conveyor belt efficiency and longevity. Additionally, we provide tailored staffing solutions to meet our clients' needs.

Responsibilities: 

• Assemble, install, repair, and maintain mechanical systems and mining equipment, particularly digging and drilling equipment. 
• To execute duties, read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints. 
• Conduct activities such as cutting, drilling, grinding, and welding, use hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other machines. 
• Maintain machinery and equipment on a regular basis to ensure peak performance. 
• Identify and fix mechanical issues and devise ways to reduce downtime. 
• To provide a safe working environment, adhere to all safety rules and guidelines. 
• Keep detailed records of all work done and materials utilised. 
• Conveyor laser Alignment 

Qualifications and skills required:

• C Class Driver's Licence (HR Desirable)
• National Police Clearance
• A Mechanical Engineering/Fitting trade qualification
• CSE, GTA, WAH 
• Excellent time management & organisation skills
• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Fitter in the mining industry. 
• Good mechanical system expertise, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to operate autonomously or as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability to work in remote locations and on a flexible schedule.
• Advantageous: Inductions for Rio Tinto, Roy Hill, FMG, MRL sites
