Position
We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Sydney team in Banksmeadow. This position requires competencies as a Mechanical Fitter with the capacity to undertake broader responsibility for general depot maintenance. This is a dayshift role base rate of pay is $47.00 per hour plus casual loading. Hours of work are 8:30am – 4:36pm.
Scope of work
Ensure Sort Systems and related depot equipment are fully maintained. Undertake preventative and predictive maintenance and provide prompt corrective action in cases of unforeseen breakdowns or damages being incurred.
- Undertake all planned maintenance activities of automated sortation systems and related freight handling equipment including preventative, predictive, corrective and project engineering to ensure maximum throughput capacity is available.
- Early identification, and rapid correction, of mechanical or automation faults of sortation systems in the event of unforeseen breakdowns.
- Effective integration, upkeep, and utilisation of the computerised maintenance management system (MEX).
- Ensure rapid repair of critical system components.
- Support operational personnel in the correct usage of systems and equipment.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of complex industrial automation systems.
- General knowledge of carton and package handling conveyor systems.
- Proficient in reading complex technical diagrams.
- Experience in working with conveying equipment, hydraulics.
- Capacity to utilise computerised maintenance management (MEX) software systems effectively.
- Ability to participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience in the freight / intralogistics industry is highly desirable.
