Your New Team & Role
Statewide has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our branch based in Burnie on a Full-time basis. This role will see you being responsible for conveyor belt mechanical maintenance, repairs and services to conveyor systems and conveyor components. You will be responsible to:
- Competently perform all mechanical tasks on conveyor systems and components.
- Conduct conveyor audits to diagnose condition and faults on mechanical equipment, make recommendations on preventative maintenance or how to improve production.
- Ensure all equipment and tools required for planned work is loaded for site and site compliant for use.
- Conduct quality audits on work performed.
- Assist with job scoping and planning.
- Audit and sign off completed timesheets daily and gain sign off from job supervisor as per procedure.
- Create or modify JSA’s as per job plan, updated JSA as job procedure alters.
- Ensure JSAs’ are signed off by all crew members once communicated.
About you
This role would be well suited for an experienced Mechanical Fitter who is motivated, solutions-focused, and has previous conveyor experience. Moreover, you will possess:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Proven welding skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical conveyor maintenance
- Self-starter with a commitment to safety and focus on quality
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
- Current driver’s license
