The position is residential in Mount Isa and will require the applicant to responsibly, safely and effectively perform planned and breakdown maintenance tasks while promoting site safety values and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and executed in a professional manner.

The Role
Reporting to the Fixed Plant Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines. The roster for this role is 4 on 4 off, 4 on 2 off days only.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Safe and efficient Repairs to pumps and pipework in the underground environment.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of Fixed Plant across the operation.
- Fault finding and trouble-shooting machinery issues.
- Managing repairs, servicing and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Reviewing and modifying preventative maintenance plans for optimum reliability.
- Supporting improvement projects that aim to reduce unplanned stoppages.
- Maintaining and improving OH&S and overall operational standards in the workplace.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Mechanical Fitter Trade qualification or similar
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical/schematic drawings
- Ability to learn and understand machinery assembly / disassembly
- Ability to conduct trouble-shooting and problem solving skills
- Flexible approach and adaptable to change with a high attention to detail
- Good time management skills and able to work unsupervised
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment
- Good communication skills
- Willingness and ability to learn new processes
- Hold a current Australian Manual Drivers Licence
