Joining the Maintenance Team in Wulkuraka as a Mechanical Fitter/Technician will see you: -
- Carry out routine examinations
- Fault finding
- Interrogation and diagnostic testing on heavy rail equipment installed on the QNGR Project.
- Actively maintain and repair rail equipment installed
- Fulfil safety procedures
- Report daily and weekly on activity, problems found, and measures taken to maintain
- Operating and maintaining workshop equipment
- Following instructions to complete tasks, and the ability to work both in a team and independent environment
- General workshop duties
Responsibilities encompass servicing locomotives, performing dismantling and inspection procedures, executing component change-outs, conducting pneumatic system testing, assembly tasks, and other duties as necessary. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining and enhancing the operational efficiency of our locomotive fleet.
Profile
To be eligible for the role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency status
- Appropriate trade qualifications recognised in Australia- Cert 3 in Mechanical Engineering
- Mechanical candidates will be assessed on their knowledge of pneumatic schematics and related systems
- Capability to undertake shift work as required
- Strong communication skills
- Additional experience in Rolling Stock, Aviation, or Mining is considered advantageous
- Successful completion of a category 2 medical assessment
- Successful completion of a police check
- Provision of two positive references
- Completion of an Anti Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing check
Job Offer
These are contingent roles based at the purpose-built Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility. With this global leader, there will be plenty of scope for advancement. The pay and conditions will be as per their current Enterprise Agreement.
Initially, the role will entail day shifts starting at 5:30 am from Monday to Friday. This will be followed by a period of 2-3 weeks on night shifts. Subsequently, you will transition to a dynamic 24/7 lifestyle roster for work-life balance rotating shifts.
