About the RoleApplications are invited from suitably qualified personnel for the permanent position of Shift Fitter based at the
Pioneer Mill, located near Ayr, Queensland. As a shift fitter, you will follow a 12hour continuous shift roster during the Crushing Season and day work during the Maintenance Season, during this you will be required to work weekend work and overtime when required. The crushing season you will be responsible for helping to ensure the continuous running of fixed plant equipment and machinery, and as Day Fitter you will be responsible for quality maintenance inspections, repairs and overhauls on a wide variety of fixed plant.
Primary responsibilities:- Carrying out inspection of plant and equipment and providing condition reports
- Installation and monitoring of plant and equipment
- Fault-finding on plant and equipment
- Ensuring control systems are operating correctly and are adjusted accurately
- Carrying out maintenance and adjustments on fixed plant and machinery as required
Our ideal candidate will have:- Completed Certificate III Mechanical (Fitting/Maintenance)
- Post trade experience in diverse heavy industry
- A strong commitment to safety with involvement in safety/improvement teams
- Enthusiasm to learn new skills
