About the Role

We are currently seeking qualified Mechanical Fitters with relevant experience and industry exposure for a new project in Kalgoorlie. The position is offered as casual however the roster is flexible, offering a variety of 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 - flying in and out from Perth WA. 

Duties

• Ensure achievement of maintenance goals to maximise plant and equipment availability;
• Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment and operate machines to produce parts or tools;
• Mark the shape and dimensions of a part to be machined by studying blueprints and using measuring instruments;
• Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads, if necessary, for bolting parts together;
• Manufacture, repair and fault-find hydraulic and pneumatic equipment;
• Operate powered machines that may be manually or computer controlled;
• Erect machinery and equipment on site as required; and inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs as required.

Skills and Experience
Essential Criteria (what's required):

• Australian recognized Trade Certification (Cert III in Mechanical Fitting or Cert III Fitting and Machining)
• Valid WA Driver's License - HR/HR-B preferred. 
• Minimum 3 years' experience and industry exposure
• Construction (White) Card 
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work well in a team in remote areas
• Strong commitment towards safety and quality
• Motivated and hardworking with a professional attitude
• Company and customer focused based
• Punctual and reliable
• Either has or be prepared to obtain a current Working at Heights ticket (issued within 2 years)
• Either has or be prepared to obtain a current Confined Space ticket (issued within 2 years)
• Forklift and EWP are desirable however not essential
• Ability to pass a medical and D&A screen
