We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team for scheduled shutdowns and maintenance projects. The role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Job Description:
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling mechanical equipment and machinery during scheduled shutdowns and maintenance periods. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment, including pumps, conveyors, turbines, compressors, and other machinery.
- Shutdown Projects: Participate in planned shutdowns, ensuring all mechanical tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs, replacements, and adjustments as necessary.
- Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install new equipment and machinery as required.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
Qualifications:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
- Proven experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance, and shutdown work.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and extended hours during shutdowns.
