About the role:
Destec has recently commenced mining operations at our new Poondano Iron Ore Project in the Pilbara, located approximately 20km north of Port Hedland, with the camp located approximately 6km from site. In this role you will become an integral part of a small team focusing on the preventative maintenance and fault finding of the Mobile Crusher and various mobile plant on site.
The position is open to residential or FIFO (ex Perth) applicants, on a 2 weeks on 1 week roster, excellent remuneration salary on offer.
About the role
Destec is presently looking for skilled Mechanical Fitters to become valuable members of operational teams. The teams are focused on maintaining fixed plant crushing, screening, and associated machinery and equipment at a Tier One mine site located in the Pilbara.
Salary: From $179 200 per annum full time (depending on qualifications) + superannuation on all hours.
To be successful in this role you will require the following:
- Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter or HD Fitter qualifications
- Working at Heights (obtained within 2 years) or willing to obtain
- Confined Space Entry (obtained within 2 years) or willing to obtain
- Experience with crushing and screening plants
- Knowledge of fixed plant components, such as crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps and chutes, etc.
- Current driver’s license
- First Aid or Senior First Aid Certificate
- Elevated Work Platform competency
- Rigging competency
- Fleet maintenance experience
- Heavy diesel fitting experience
- Ability to interpret drawings and instructions
- Analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Be reliable, driven and self-motivated
- Adhere with project rules and requirements
- Attention to detail
- Ability to be safety conscious
- Ability to work well in small teams
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, as well as a drug and alcohol screen
