THE OPPORTUNITY
Our client Malcolm Thompson Pumps, based in Seven Hills in Sydney, is one of Australia’s leading pump companies and have been providing a complete range of solutions to the industry since 1967, across a wide range of industries including industrial, agricultural, food & beverage, facilities management, and mining. They are currently in need of enthusiastic Mechanical Fitter/Pump Technician apprentices who are looking to start their career in a thriving industry.
You will be involved in daily hands-on activities, developing your skills relating to the install, maintenance, repair, rebuilding and modification of pumps, pump systems, controls, and components that will include both workshop and site work.
Undertaking this four-year apprenticeship will give you the opportunity to become a qualified Mechanical Fitter and you will earn your MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade.
ABOUT YOU
If you have a Cert 2 in Engineering, some relative work experience through school or just an interest in anything mechanical or plumbing then we would love to hear from you. You will require
Positive attitude and genuine interest in learning from skilled tradespeople
Excellent communication skills
Problem solving skills and enjoying getting your hands dirty
Punctuality and reliability – early starts required
Reliable vehicle and current driver's licence are ideal however there are options to be picked up on the way to work until you gain your licence
White Card or willing to obtain
Successfully pass a Pre-employment medical, Drug and Alcohol, Working with Children Check and Police Clearance
