Carbon Logica Pty Ltd (Carbon Logica) is a private company established in 2022 to provide carbon abatement services to the mining industry. Carbon Logica is co-owned by Xcoal Mining and LMS Energy. The business joins together Xcoal’s extensive experience in operating and maintaining some of Australia’s gassiest coal mines and LMS’ capability to own, operate and maintain power generation fuelled by waste coal mine gas.
Initially reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, your role will primarily involve operating and maintaining Carbon Logica’s renewable energy facility and all associated plant and equipment at Fitzroy Mining’s Ironbark Operation in the Bowen Basin, QLD.
Carbon Logica is seeking Mechanical Operators and offers training and development opportunities for the right applicant. You will be experienced in working on gas fired reciprocating generators as part of a rotating roster, and provide support to surrounding facilities when required.

Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain gas reciprocating engines and power generation equipment
- Undertake routine inspections of the power station and ancillary equipment
- Operate instrument and process control systems including monitoring power station operations via SCADA ensuring the site is operating as required
- Identify and troubleshoot short-term and long-term plant reliability issues or improvement opportunities that might be present
- Maintain warehouse and stock inventory processes on site including escorting and unloading deliveries
- Utilise the maintenance management system in line with business procedures
- Ensure a tidy and safe site
- Act as Carbon Logica’s on site representative with mine interactions and other stakeholders as required
- Support contractors, visitors and delivery drivers in accessing the site and ensure Carbon Logica HSE policies and procedures are adhered to
Requirements:
- Team player with a great work ethic, initiative and resilience

- Ability to troubleshoot and work autonomously
- Holds a current Australian driver’s license and forklift license
- Mechanical trade qualifications
- Experience working with Jenbacher and Caterpillar reciprocating generators
- Standard 11 and willingness to undertake a Coal Board Medical
- EWP, working at heights, rigging and dogging, gas type B training desirable
