Reporting to the Head of Manufacturing, our Reliability Engineer is accountable for establishment of the site preventative maintenance plan, asset care strategy and driving improvements in equipment uptime for our pharmaceutical manufacture in Clayton, Victoria
Working closely with our Maintenance & Production teams, you will troubleshoot machine breakdowns, find resolutions that will support the long-term production of our LSG products. Leading & managing projects from concept to close out optimising scope, schedule, and cost efficiencies will also form part of your role.
Key outcomes of the role include:
Reliability Engineer:
- Maintain an asset hierarchy and register for the site in master files and in MEX.
- Develop asset criticalities based on site’s asset criticality matrix.
- Maintenance plans with best practices. Establish them in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and in MEX.
- Manage predictive and proactive maintenance programs including precision maintenance activities.
- Lead FRACAS actions for defect elimination/problem solving for long term prevention using RCA.
- Contribute to critical spares selection and develop bill of materials (BOM) in MEX.
- Lead the lubrication program.
- Maintain a plant and process technical database.
- Assess asset conditions and performance using varied best practices. Identify and provide recommendations/solutions to reduce business risk.
- Contribute to engineering designs including CAD development.
- Lead & Support selected CapEx, OpEx and continuous improvement projects.
- Support delivery of the site capital plan.
- Develop business cases for advances in technological/engineering systems.
- Improvement of quality standards and performance through robust maintenance processes, workmanship standards and precision maintenance practices.
- Other duties as required to support and ensure the continuous production/manufacturing life cycle of our products.
Maintenance & Production Support:
- Support and implement a culture of continuous improvement within maintenance practices towards best practices from PvM, PdM to ProM using reliability spectrum.
- Work with operations to minimise impact of downtime events and ensure effective risk mitigation plans/actions are in place for all predicted significant events.
- Ensuring all high risk, major hazard facility and classified plant maintenance activities have supporting SOPs.
- Lead regular OEE analysis and prepare report for loss accounting and thereon to reveal bad actors (poorly performing machines).
- Improve overall production and uptime performance for both production and services/utility assets.
- Recommend & deliver improvement activities.
As the successful candidate, you will have;
- 3+ years of related experience in pharmaceutical, FMCG/Manufacturing, or related industry managing and coordinating; Capital projects and/or preventative maintenance.
- Engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar discipline
- Establishing and operating a budget
- Exposure to mechatronics, automation controls, PLC’s, robotics, and Scada Systems highly regarded
- Ability to communicate across different levels to internal & external stakeholders
- Lead, coach, support, and mentor team members
- Commitment to OHS with an understanding of OHS & EPA regulations
- Influence & negotiation skills with the ability to lead & drive continuous improvements
- Skilled in trouble shooting mechanical equipment & systems
- Knowledge of packing equipment highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
