Mechanical Supervisor (Hi-Rail Equipment Specialist)

The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Supervisor (hi-rail equipment specialist).

Position Description:

The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical maintenance activities of the plant and equipment including hi-rail equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with the Mechanical Superintendent to ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

• Executing plant and equipment inspections including hi-rail equipment, during the onboarding process, managing the related documentation.
• Plan, organize, and supervise the mechanical maintenance activities of the plant and equipment including hi-rail equipment.
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently in accordance with the company's policies and procedures.
• Managing maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Work with the Mechanical Superintendent to develop and implement maintenance strategies to ensure that equipment downtime is minimized.
• Manage the performance of the mechanical maintenance team and/or subcontractors.
• Monitor the condition of plant and equipment including hi-rail equipment and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Support the superintendent in managing the procurement of spare parts and ensure that an adequate inventory of parts is maintained.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance in a heavy industry environment (hi-rail equipment specialization preferred).
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the procurement and management of spare parts.
• Familiarity with maintenance management software systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work extended hours when required.
