Maintenance Crew – Mechanical Tradespersons
The Farmer Group is an Australian family owned and operated diverse horticultural enterprise. Based in Virginia South Australia, we have recently completed a major upgrade to automate our production facility.
We are seeking to build a ‘hands on’ team of Maintenance personnel, from Mechanical Tradesperson to trades assistants and store personnel, we have roles to suite all. All roles will come together to achieve the companies’ overall goals of effectively managing preventative maintenance and successfully overcoming challenging breakdowns.
Your Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Managing and participating in the repairs and maintenance of production equipment. On site we have a mixture of new and old equipment including but not limited to roller and belt conveyors, chain rollers, shuttles, pneumatics, hydraulics, 2D & 3D Burg Robots, Tomra Sentinel II, Wyma Wash line, Sorma Palletisers & CFC Machines, Innotech Vertical Form Fill Seal machines, FH Bag on Roll, Equaft wicket baggers and Verbruggen palletisers. Most of this equipment is less than 6 months into production use.
- Carry out preventative maintenance.
- Conduct root cause analysis of any failures and develop improvements to prevent future occurrences. Reducing the number of unplanned stops.
- Ensure that the workshop area is maintained in a clean and operational state.
- Ensure that in the event of machinery breakdown, that machinery is repaired as effectively and efficiently as possible in line with WHS and Quality and Food Safety requirements and that the area is returned in a fit for production state.
Skills & Experience required:
- Experience in a preventative maintenance in a FMCG environment.
- Experience in PLC programming for both issue resolution and modification, SCADA and VSD configuration skills will be valued.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other key members of the operations team including supervisors, machinery operators and the senior management team.
- Relevant trade qualifications, and/or a B class electrical license and/or welding certificate
- Experience in trouble shooting and fault finding on highly automated production lines.
- Ability to work autonomously and safely under pressure.
- A positive work attitude and professional manner
- Demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and technical aptitude.
