About the Company
Antikythera Robotics is an Australian robotics start-up founded in 2017, Aiming to develop quadruped robots for industrial applications by harnessing the reinforcement learning methods aiming to revolutionize the mining industry by introducing autonomous quadruped robots specialized in the execution of various safety-related tasks, increasing the overall efficiency, accuracy and reliability of mining operations while minimizing cost and eliminating the risk of harm to human life. The team is looking to hire a talented engineer with a strong background in mechanical, electronics and software domains.
Must have
? Master’s or higher in Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent quantitative discipline
? 3+ year professional experience in engineering environment
? Should have very good understanding of control and robotic concepts
? Experience in developing and testing control algorithms using Matlab and Simulink or other similar softwares.
? Experience in developing and testing of learning based control (e.g. Reinforcement Learning) algorithms
? Familiar working with various sensors used in a robotics context in a real-world environment such as encoders, force/torque sensors, IMUs, LIDARs and cameras
? Fluency in both Python, C/C++ in a Linux environment
? Experience with robotics projects: Involvement in robotics projects through personal/collaborative academic/professional projects.
? Enjoy working closely within a cross-functional agile R&D team for a range of software and mechatronic product development activities
? Data analysis skills, data visualization
? Good communication skills both written and verbal
? Must have full-time working rights in Australia.
Nice to have
? Prior experience in a robotics R&D project either in an academic or an industrial environment is highly desirable
? Demonstrated software development for robotics applications using ROS (Robot Operating System)
? Numerical optimization techniques, genetic algorithms, monte carlo, gradient descent, etc.
? Robot kinematics, dynamics, state estimation, solvers
? Experience working with physics simulators (pybullet, pydrake, mujoco)
? Sensor fusion and signal processing.
? Understanding of the mechanical design process from preliminary to detailed part design
? Skilled in the use of CAD-software (Solidworks) for part and assembly design
? Understanding and experience in using Finite-Element Analysis (FEA) tools (Ansys) to ensure the structural integrity of the mechanical system
