As a key part of the team, you'll contribute innovative promotional ideas, engage with media outlets, provide media briefs, media pitching, press releases and will play a pivotal role in publicizing the organization's achievements & social contributions as well as increasing positive media coverage and engagement.
This role will report into the Senior Manager – Corporate Communications and Media. This is a full time role, with great work from home flexibility, working within a supportive and collaborative team.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities in the content and communication calendar, the daily news cycle, and all media/public relations
- Utilise media/public relations techniques to advance achievement of organisational goals.
- Proactively engage with media outlets and PR agency to achieve positive media exposure.
- Develop comprehensive media and communications plans to support the organisation in the implementation and rollout of its projects, campaigns and core initiatives, in addition to proactive media relations plans.
- Stay informed of industry trends and developments to ensure current and effective media efforts.
- Leverage your expert written communication skills from time to time to “ghost-write” important written communications.
- Prepared to respond to issues that could negatively impact the organisation’s reputation.
- Conduct and report on quality control audits.
- Work closely with business representatives and executive leaders
- 3 + years’ experience in PR or media
- Demonstrated expertise in proactively creating media opportunities and events
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
