The Opportunity

As an Internal Communication Specialist at UniSC, you will help shape and deliver strategies that enhance staff awareness and engagement with our core strategic priorities. Working under the guidance of the Associate Director of Strategic Communications and in collaboration with teams across all UniSC portfolios, you will develop and execute Internal Communication programs. Your responsibilities will include creating and editing content, coordinating activities, and using various channels to support staff engagement with the University's strategic initiatives.

You will

  • collaborate with the Associate Director of Strategic Communications to drive UniSC’s Internal Communications strategy;
  • foster staff engagement and awareness of the University’s strategic priorities while enhancing our internal culture;
  • take the lead in developing and executing impactful Internal Communication programs;
  • oversee the production of the My UniSC Staff Digest e-newsletter, ensuring effective profiling of strategic priorities and portfolios; and
  • coordinate content authors across the University to ensure policy compliance on official channels.

With a strategic approach, you'll design and implement staff communications, ensuring each message reflects our professionalism and goals. You'll provide guidance on Internal Communication practices and special projects, including our new strategic plan, fostering staff involvement at every turn. Your contributions to our Executive Communication strategies will strengthen the connection between staff and leadership, ensuring our evolving priorities are embraced by all. You will possess:

  • Proven expertise in Internal Communications within a large-scale organisation, showcasing a diverse portfolio of Internal Communication materials.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities, highlighting a talent for clear and precise writing.
  • Advanced client management capabilities, evidenced by adept problem-solving, conflict resolution, and innovative thinking to achieve positive outcomes for internal stakeholders.
  • Outstanding organisational skills, encompassing superior time management, strategic planning, deadline adherence, multitasking, and adept management of evolving workloads.
  • Proficiency in utilising Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint and Viva Engage (formerly Yammer), advantageous.
  • Familiarity with or experience in the Australian higher education sector is beneficial.
