What does the Role Entail
- Negotiate with media owners (broadcast networks, publication houses, outdoor advertising companies) to purchase ad spaces or times at optimal rates.
- Develop comprehensive media plans that align with the client’s marketing objectives, budget constraints, and target audience.
- Implementing the media plan by coordinating the distribution of materials to the respective channels and ensuring that ads run at the specified times.
- Analysing demographic data to understand the target audience’s media consumption habits, which helps in selecting the most effective media channels.
- Monitoring competitors’ advertising activities to benchmark and differentiate the client’s media strategy.
- Managing the budget allocated for offline media spends, ensuring it is spent efficiently to achieve maximum ROI.
- Regularly communicating with clients about the progress of their media buys, performance reporting, and strategic recommendations.
What We Are Looking for in the Candidate:
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a media role with experience in media buying or planning, with a focus on offline channels such as TV, radio, print, and outdoor advertising.
- Expertise with Spectra MD. Ideally some experience with industry
planning and reporting technologies (Roy Morgan, ASTEROID5, Fusion, ETAM, ERAM, DV360, The Trade Desk and Microsoft Office). - Strong capabilities in negotiating with media vendors to secure the best rates and placements.
- Ability to work closely with clients to understand their advertising needs and translate these into effective media strategies.
- Ability to conduct and interpret market research to understand audience behaviours and preferences across different Australian demographics.
