About Jacinth-Ambrosia
Jacinth-Ambrosia is located 270 kilometres north of the Port of Thevenard, near Ceduna. It is the world’s largest source of zircon, and a Tier 1 deposit with extensive reserves. Jacinth-Ambrosia site has a fully equipped modern camp with facilities including a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel.
About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated and team-focused Medical & Emergency Services Officer to join Iluka’s Health & Safety team, based at Jacinth Ambrosia mine site.
This is a FIFO role flying out of Adelaide or Ceduna on a family friendly 8:6 roster with a back-to-back teammate. This is a fabulous opportunity to grow your development in the areas of Medic and Emergency Rescue by putting your own mark on the position and making a difference to our overall efficiency and sustainability.
Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Superintendent onsite, the main responsibilities of this role include:
- Respond to site emergencies and maintain a state of operational readiness at all times
- Provide guidance to and training for the site volunteer Emergency Response team and operational departments in emergency management preparedness and prevention activities
- Assist in the planning and coordination of, and participate in site emergency drills
- Provide on-site first response and medical services and maintain facilities in a state of readiness
- ERT and medical equipment preparedness including compliance inspections, auditing and reporting
- Conduct site fitness for work requirements
- Participate and attend training as a member of the site Emergency Response team
- Conduct Occupational Hygiene Monitoring
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent is desirable but can be obtained through development
- Certificate IV in Health Care
- A qualification in Nursing or Paramedicine will be viewed favourably
- HLTPAT005 - Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
- Previous exposure working in heavy industries – Mining, Construction, Rail, Defence or Emergency Agency
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, ability to work in a team environment
- Organised, pro-active, self-starter with the ability to multitask
- Report writing and data analysis skills with a high level of business confidentiality
- Ability to develop and instruct practical training packages
