With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD, Melbourne's North is fast becoming the place to be!The Role:We currently have multiple opportunities for Medical Laboratory Technicians - Grade 1 to join the team in Anatomical Pathology at Northern Health on a part-time and full-time basis.This role would suit passionate Laboratory Technician who enjoy working as part of a team to contribute to the production of high-quality work and participation on a rotating roster.Based in within the Anatomical Pathology team the key responsibilities would be (but not limited to); specimen handling, Embedding and Microtomy of FFPE tissue, data entry, equipment maintenance, block and slide filing, cytopathology preparation, mortuary duties and other general laboratory responsibilities.To be successful in this role you will have:
- A relevant diploma of applied science (Medical Laboratory), diploma or advanced diploma in laboratory technology or Laboratory Operations, or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a diagnostic pathology laboratory and experience in histological techniques is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-changing environment, working both independently and as part of a time
- Have a high attention to detail, organizational and time management skills.
