Job Description
As a Medical Officer you will deliver the occupational suitability assessments for Candidates applying for roles in the Australian Defence Force (ADF). This role requires adherence to professional standards, legislation, and the Defence Health manual (DHM), ensuring high-quality service delivery.
We are seeking medical professionals who can demonstrate the following:
- Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery or equivalent
- Current AHPRA registration (General Registration minimum) with no conditions or restrictions relating to clinical standards or quality
- A minimum of 5 years' postgraduate experience with broad medical experience in a health system in or comparable to Australia
- Either:Fellowship or training towards fellowship of Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (AFOEM), Royal Australian College of General Practice (RACGP), or equivalent.
OR
- Minimum 2 years' experience (equivalent to 0.4 FTE) in occupational health or independent medical assessment within the last 5 years.
- Professional indemnity insurance with at least $20 million per claim indemnity
- A current Working with Children check (as per your resident state requirement)
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
- Current Police check (issued within the past 3 months)
