Medical Receptionist
Breast Cancer Research Centre WA (BCRC-WA), is a world leader and is one of the most highly regarded breast cancer clinical trials unit in Australia, located in newly furbished offices at Hollywood Private Hospital. The centre, founded by Professor Arlene Chan, in 2009, is recognised globally for its ground-breaking breast cancer research.
Perth Breast Cancer Institute (PBCI) is the clinical arm of BCRC-WA and brings together a team of dedicated specialists in one centre of excellence. PBCI aims to meet the needs of patients diagnosed with breast cancer by addressing all aspects of treatments, with a large team of surgeons and medical oncologists managing treatment plans, as well as supporting each patient and their family through diagnosis, treatment and recovery. There is access to clinical trials for both early and metastatic breast cancer and a broad range of support services, including clinical psychology and genetic counselling.

As a Medical Receptionist you are responsible for providing receptionist/administration support to the medical oncologists.
The Medical Receptionist responsibilities include:
- Efficient management of all patient data, appointments, procedures, clinical files, correspondence & accounts.
- Scheduling and effective management of patient bookings in GENTU practice management software
- meet and greet of patients
- support for the oncologists such as following up on results, writing and sending pathology or imaging requests
- Processing patient invoicing and receipting of consultations
- Preparation of correspondence via email and letters (typing, editing and formatting).
- Scanning, mail/fax (retrieval and distribution) and photocopying
- Assist the practice manager with ad hoc administration duties as required.
What we need from you:
- At least 12 months previous experience working as a Medical Receptionist, preferably in an Oncology practice
- Flexibility in hours worked, if required to accommodate clinic hours
- Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and as an effective team member
- Australian Permanent Residency /Citizenship
- Good computer skill especially, emails, excel and word will be very beneficial in this role.
