About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Records person to join our diverse, compassionate and dedicated team to provide effective and efficient support in a busy health care setting. Medical Records plays a key role in the administrative processes which aids in success of a patients journey at Calvary Centrals. This active role supports our key patient areas including surgery, medical and our Cancer Centre. This role is integral.
We are building a casual pool of staff to undertake this role and it would suit a student studying with availability on usual business days. This role is not expected to be available on weekends or out of hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary role is the preparation and scanning of Medical Records
- Other roles may include:
- Retrieval and preparation of Medical Records for patient admissions.
- Retrieval of all Medical Records for authorised persons on request.
- Compilation (where necessary), filing of Medical Records and all investigation reports in an efficient and timely manner, in particular, pathology reports are to be filed as soon as is practical in order to facilitate the Clinical Coding Process.
- Respond to all internal telephone enquiries where possible.

- This is an entry level role and only basic computer is required.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work both within a team environment and autonomously
- Ability to effectively prioritise and work to tight deadlines
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
