Job Title: Medical Theatre Technician FULL TIME
Tasks and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Preparing Operating Rooms: Setting up the operating room with the necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Sterilizing Equipment: Ensuring that all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained according to healthcare regulations and standards.
- Assisting Surgeons and Nurses: Providing support to surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments, handling specimens, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitoring Patients: Monitoring patients' vital signs and assisting with positioning during surgery to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Operating Equipment: Operating and maintaining specialized surgical equipment, such as anesthesia machines, surgical lights, and suction devices.
- Maintaining Inventory: Keeping track of surgical supplies and equipment inventory, restocking as needed, and ensuring that all items are properly stored and organized.
- Ensuring Safety and Compliance: Adhering to strict safety protocols and infection control measures to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and ensure a safe surgical environment.
- Assisting with Patient Care: Assisting with patient transfer to and from the operating room, as well as providing post-operative care and support as required.
- Collaborating with Healthcare Team: Communicating effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and ensure smooth workflow in the operating room.
- Documentation and Record-keeping: Documenting surgical procedures, patient care activities, and any relevant information accurately and timely in medical records and computer system.
- Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond effectively to emergencies and assist with resuscitation efforts as part of the surgical team
Job Description

Cert Ill Theatre Technician qualification and above
● Minimum 3 years Theatre Technician experience following qualification
● Clear understanding and use of medical terminology
● Understanding of, and ability to set-up medical devices
● Ability to work a rotating roster (mix of AM, PM, twilight and weekend shifts)
