About the role:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Medical Typist to format and transcribe specialist reports accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent typing skills, and a keen eye for detail. As a Medical Typist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our specialist reports are prepared to the highest standards, supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Edit and proofread medical reports for clarity, accuracy, and grammatical correctness.
- Verify medical terminology, abbreviations, and prescriptions with healthcare providers when necessary.
- Formatting and typing medical reports.
- Create, update and manage client records and documents with utmost accuracy.
- Providing administrative support.
- Completing regular reporting requirements.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all relevant data protection regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to clarify any unclear information or terminology.
- General administration duties to maintain internal systems and processes.
Requirements for the role:
- Proven experience as a Medical Typist or in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and familiarity with various medical specialties.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
- Familiarity with medical transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systems is an advantage.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive patient information.
