VeteranCann connects eligible veterans with our qualified nurses and Authorised Prescribing doctors to provide suitable cannabinoid-based therapies, allowing patients to get their treatment fast and delivered directly to their front door.
Our telehealth clinic is composed of a growing team of nurses and doctors who are dedicated to provide a holistic approach for the wellbeing of our patients.
About the Role:
On a daily basis you will be managing a caseload of patients via telehealth consultations. This will include
- Handling telephone based patient consultations in an appointment setting for our doctor’s - including patient screening and data entry.
- Completing accurate assessments to enable patients to apply for DVA funded Medicinal Cannabis
- Carrying out follow-up appointments where needed.
- Communicating with internal departments such as medical assistants, customer service and management.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience.
- Current professional indemnity insurance.
- Be an advocate for Medicinal Cannabis treatment & symptom management.
- The ability to work between 9am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
- Proficient with technology including the use of patient/clinician appointment software, Google Workspace, Deputy and Slack.
- A friendly and confident telephone manner, with experience providing clinical care and telephonic advice.
Desired Knowledge and Abilities
- A broad understanding of a variety of health concerns, health processes, resources, procedures, and surgeries.
- A high level of attention to detail and someone who can undertake patient assessments and review patient symptoms with accuracy and thoroughness.
- Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal skills – including active listening, displaying empathy and confident verbal communication.
- Experience working with Veterans and some understanding of the Department of Veterans Affairs Systems.
- Experience working from home is preferred.
- Telehealth experience is preferred.
- Medicinal Cannabis nursing experience is highly desired.
