The Chamber of Arts and Culture WA is the peak body that champions the essential place of arts and culture for everyone, everywhere across Western Australia. The Chamber does this by:

The Chamber is a not-for-profit organisation that works on behalf of its member organisations and individuals to build capacity, develop industry programs and support leadership and collaboration.

The Role 

The arts, culture and creative industries sector is an exciting and vibrant ecosystem that plays a crucial role in Western Australia’s socio-economic success. The Chamber is looking for a special person to work across this sector and undertake the critical role of building strong member engagement with the Chamber. 

The Membership Engagement Manager will facilitate membership growth, coordinate member communications and events, and oversee the Chamber’s administrative functions relating to members. The role will involve the development and implementation of membership strategies, and advocacy for the Chamber’s strategic business goals.

The Membership Engagement Manager will be a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who genuinely enjoys forging and maintaining positive, productive relationships with a diverse range of important stakeholders.

The Chamber’s members are individuals, arts, culture and creative sector organisations of all sizes, and private and public sector stakeholders. As a peak body, the Chamber is committed to serving its members with the highest levels of professionalism and expertise.

The role will report to the Chief Executive Officer of the Chamber.

Role Description   

Membership Liaison

• First point of contact for members regarding the Chamber’s strategies, projects, programs and events.
• Regular communication with members about the Chamber’s activities and broader sector issues of interest, involving digital and traditional channels of engagement.
• Development of strong, productive relationships with members that includes regular contact and updates.

Membership Retention and Growth

• Development of a strategy and implementation of a campaign to increase Chamber membership.
• Input into the Chamber’s value proposition to retain existing members and attract new members.
• Promotion of the Chamber’s membership benefits to existing and prospective members.
• Engagement with potential members by attendance and networking at relevant sector and industry events and forums.
• Onboarding of new members.

Membership Events

• Work with the Chamber team to develop a range of relevant member events, and coordinate these events, including marketing and communications activities.
• Coordination of regular meetings of the Cultural Executives Group and other membership working groups and committees.
• Coordination the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting.

Membership Administration

• Maintenance of the Chamber’s member database.
• Oversight of member subscriptions and renewals.
• Generation of membership reports and statistics.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements  

The following attributes are essential for the role of Membership Engagement Manager:

• Proven experience in member or stakeholder relationship management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including digital skills.
• A professional and positive approach to dealing with stakeholders from all sectors at all levels. 
• Excellent time management skills, including the ability to priorities tasks and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated with an ability to work independently, but with a passion for working as part of a small, collegiate team.
• A genuine interest in the arts, culture and creative industries sectors. 
• Personal attributes of integrity, curiosity and collaboration.
• Police Clearance.
• Experience with databases and Microsoft Office platforms.

The following attributes are desirable for this role:

• Business development or membership association experience.
• Events experience.
• Marketing experience.
