Mental Healthand Wellbeing Principal Project Officer
- 6 month contract with possibility of extension
- Based in Milton
Role Scope and Responsibilities:
- The role will assist in the development of a state-wide Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy (MHWS) and requires strategy development skills with a particular focus in Mental Health and Wellbeing.
- Assist with the development of the population based MHWS including the development of content and undertaking relevant research to inform the strategy.
- Build and partner with relevant stakeholders (internal and external) by consulting and negotiating to enable development, acceptability and achievement of the projects’ designated outcomes.
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Solid knowledge and demonstrated experience of Mental Health prevention, promotion and early intervention including knowledge of preventive strategies and coping mechanisms, emerging trends and evidence-based approaches.
- Demonstrated ability in developing strategies/policies to deliver on government priorities.
- Strong written communication skills and ability to create, distribute and implement educational materials, reports, resources, and toolkits to support Mental Health and Wellbeing promotion efforts.
- Strong verbal communication skills with an ability to build and partner with a range of internal and external audiences to support a multi-stakeholder project, including the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Qualifications
While not mandatory, it is highly desirable that the successful applicant:
- Holds an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, particularly in the areas of psychology, public health, social work, or a related field.
- Has experience working in strategy and/or policy development, with a Mental Health and Wellbeing focus
