Requisition ID: REQ471642Applications Close: Sunday, 7th April 2024Mental Health Clinician - Children and Adolescent Mental Health ServiceMaitlandAbout us:An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mental Health Clinician to join our supportive and dynamic team at Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Hunter Valley, based at the High Street campus in Maitland, however, will involve travel to other parts of the catchment area as needed.This role is supported by the CAMHS Hunter Valley Clinical Leader, as well as by senior clinicians in your discipline. Our successful candidate will also be provided with clinical supervision and ongoing training and education opportunities to support your professional development.About the role:As a Mental Health Clinician within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service you will provide a high quality clinical and case management service to children, young people and their families/caregivers. The role of the Clinician in this setting includes:
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team model to provide specialist person centred clinical intervention to children/young people and their families/carers, to ensure delivery of innovative and developmentally appropriate clinical practice and therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in the delivery of trauma informed care and its application in working with children/young people with Mental Health concerns and their families /carers.
- Exercise independent professional judgement.
- Ensure the care delivered sits within professional, organisational, legal and ethical boundaries and reflects evidence based, best practice knowledge and embraces a collaborative, client centred, family and culturally sensitive approach.
- Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and participate in initiatives to enhance service delivery and consumer outcomes.

- You are an enthusiastic and capable individual with a passion for supporting the Mental Health of children, young people, and their families and carers.
- An understanding of principles of trauma informed care and its application to therapeutic interventions and experience working with complex families is desirable.
- Must hold a qualification in Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program) which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- Candidates who are provisionally registered with the Psychology Board and who are enrolled in an accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification may also be considered.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel for work purposes.
