The Role
An opportunity has become available for an Occupational Therapist/Psychologist/Social Worker - Senior (Mental Health - Acute Care Team) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide high level clinical leadership and advocacy for the Mental Health needs of service consumers and their carers
- Provide high level expertise of comprehensive and flexible Mental Health service in a specialised area of clinical practice
- Apply independent professional judgement, based on valid and reliable evidence
- Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Possession of a tertiary degree in Occupational Therapy, Psychology or Social Work
- AHPRA Registration (Occupational Therapist/Psychologist only)
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (Social Worker only)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Temporary full time, temporary part time (one full time or several part time positions, hrs negotiable, 6 months with the possibility of extension)
- Base salary ranging from $4 933.10 - $5 355.90 per fortnight, $64.90 - $70.47 per hour
About Us
The Acute Care Treatment Team (ACT) provide 24 hour, 7 day a week specialist Mental Health care service. This team's role is to be the first point of contact for the GCHHS Mental Health Service to provide education, support, information, advice and referral. ACT is a mobile assertive outreach crisis response team that offers a range of short-term options tailored to meet individual needs in the community which may also include Acute Care in the immediate post discharge phase of an inpatient admission.
