About the position
Shellharbour Head to Health provides a safe and welcoming place for adults who may be in distress or crisis and need support finding the right Mental Health service. The service takes a holistic and collaborative approach to care with a focus on a broad range of social, physical and emotional needs.
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to join our team. This is a dynamic role where you will get to work within a supportive and multidisciplinary team in providing care navigation and psychological support to adults.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully registered clinician or someone looking to be supported as they work towards their full registration or accreditation.
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a consumer to identify their support needs, goals and develop collaborative care plans. The incumbent will provide high quality biopsychosocial assessment, care coordination and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to Shellharbour Head to Health consumers.
This opportunity is part-time (up to 30 hours available per week), fixed term to 30 June 2025 with possibility of extension. Hours and days are negotiable.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current or working towards full AHPRA registration as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, Mental Health nurse, or occupational therapist (accredited in Mental Health) or qualifications in social work and eligibility to work towards accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health social worker
- Demonstrated ability to engage with consumers and their families, friends or carers to undertake assessment and screening to determine care needs.
- Experience in assessment and diagnosis of Mental Health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies
- Experience in providing care coordination or referral support.
