About the Role
Work within the Strengths Model of recovery orientated practice.
Build a therapeutic alliance with identified consumers and actively engage them in the planning, delivery and evaluation of their care.
In collaboration with the treating team and consumers, support the development of enhanced care and treatment plans that complement existing plans and promote improved recovery and outcomes.
In collaboration with the treating team utilise discipline-specific OT skills to deliver a range of evidence based assessment and interventions as required by consumers in line with SVMH policies and strategic direction.
Deliver specialist programs to individuals or to groups.
Classifications for this position will range from Occupational Therapist Gr 2 VF6 – VF9 ($86,730 - $99,699 per annum).
Your Contribution
Occupational Therapy qualifications
Current AHPRA registration
Eligible for membership with Occupational Therapy Australia Association.
Minimum 5 years experience in relevant acute/community and Mental Health settings
Knowledge of and commitment to providing a comprehensive range of Occupational Therapy assessment, intervention and case management services for people with serious mental illness and complex needs and their carers.
Current national criminal history check or willing to obtain

Health Care for the Homeless Program
This position is part of the Health Care for the Homeless Program (HfH). HfH comprises several services that support clients that are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. HfH aims to integrate and better coordinate existing services within St Vincent’s Hospital and where service gaps are identified, support the development of new services to meet the needs of our clients.
Operationally the role is based at Frontyard Youth Services which is a specialist youth service located in Melbourne’s CBD. Frontyard aims to support young people aged 12 to 25 to meet their physical, emotional and social needs and to develop pathways out of homelessness. This includes but is not limited to providing 18 beds crisis accommodation service and drop in centre housing multiple services working with young people across Greater Melbourne and throughout Victoria.
