About the Role
As a qualified and experienced Registered Nurse, with demonstrated experience in the Mental Health setting, you will join our team to support a national, virtual, public health information service.

You will provide clinical advice and triage for Mental Health in conjunction with seamless customer service to our client’s customers via inbound calls, outbound calls, follow up calls and SMS’. The role also involves review of referrals-in and development of referrals-out. These activities adhere to a strict scope of practice defined by our client and your level of professional qualification.
You will document all interactions in accordance with applicable standards, guidelines and work instructions. The role also requires you to identify and escalate incidents and concerns in line with Serco’s Clinical Governance Framework and ensure protection of personal information in accordance with Serco and our client’s policies and procedures. Individual and team performance targets are specified by contractual agreement between Serco and our client.

You have a professional, patient, and friendly manner and enjoy interacting with patients and assisting with various healthcare needs.
You enjoy working independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team, with a commitment to delivering safe, efficient and high-quality care. You take pride in contributing to the delivery of the highest standards of care to patients.
You are collaborative with a strong customer service focus, and the ability to build rapport and trust quickly and easily. A quick problem solver, able to ‘think on your feet’ with a strong governance and compliance background is a must.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor of Nursing or Equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) in a Mental Health setting (including primary care Mental Health); or Minimum 12 months demonstrated duration of Mental Health practice since completion of a post graduate Mental Health
Qualification
- Minimum of 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) clinical experience in the last 5 years
- Current and ongoing unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Recent and ongoing participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA including a minimum of 10 hours annual specifically to Mental Health
- (Desirable): Possession of or progression towards an appropriate post graduate qualification (Mental Health Nursing)
- Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- National Police Check and clearances as per requirement from the client
- Strong computer and IT competency with demonstrated digital capability to enable navigation of multiple systems including clinical decision-making software.
- Fluent in English – both verbal and written
- (Desirable): Experience in inbound, outbound call handling and correspondence
