About the Role:This is a Part Time Fixed Term role for 12 months at 16 hours/week (32 hours/fortnight) within the Nutrition & Food Services Department.This role is as a team member providing high quality food services to our patients and families. The Menu Monitor role involves distribution & collection of patient menus, assisting patients with making suitable menu choices consistent with their dietary requirements and processing of menus to provide accurate orders for kitchen production and patient service. The Menu Monitor liaises regularly with dietitians and nursing staff about patients' needs.What you'll achieve:
  • Work with other staff as part of a team to achieve high quality patient meal service and ensure patients receive accurate, safe and acceptable meals
  • Offer excellent customer service to patients and families
  • Accurately translate each patient's dietary needs to menu choices, including food allergen management
  • Assist with food production and distribution as requested
Classification for this position is GS6, Food Monitor (FTE base salary $59,389 per annum, plus superannuation).Your skills and experience:
  • Experience/knowledge of therapeutic diets and allergen-free diets
  • Ability to read & write English, sufficient to understand verbal & written instructions, to write accurate short communications and to communicate with other staff and with families
  • High standard of personal presentation and hygiene
  • Good computer handling skills
If this sounds like you, click to view the position description.About the Nutrition and Food Service department:The Department of Nutrition and Food Services at The Royal Children's Hospital incorporates the clinical dietetic service, the Main Kitchen that caters for inpatient meals and the Central Formula Room that produces formula, enteral feeds and fortifies expressed breast milk to meet the nutritional needs of patients.What we offer:
