- Salary Band 4 from $80,942 per annum + 11% superannuation
- Based at Zoos Victoria Corporate office, Melbourne Zoo, Parkville, with work-from-home flexibilities

Key accountabilities for the role:
- Develop merchandise and sourcing growth plans that meets financial KPI's considering visitor segmentation and retail customer profiles, working collaboratively with the Retail Merchandise team.
- Implement and manage merchandise sourcing including management of ordering process, distribution, and invoice processing whole of Zoos Victoria Retail (7 Stores across 4 properties, online and wholesale)
- Review, analyse and investigate sales, inventory movements, data anomalies, supplier, category, individual barcode performance to obtain financial KPI's in conjunction with the Retail Planner and Business Manager.
- Identifying and understanding merchandise data issues and opportunities; comparing data from different sources to draw conclusions; taking action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
- Clearly communicating retail merchandise plans to assist the property team with people resource planning and avoid confusion and unnecessary costs.
- Developing and using collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals & retail projects using strong negotiation and positive influencing skills.
- Build strategic relationships that align with Retail Business Strategy, customer needs, merchandise, and financial plans.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in one of the following fields would be preferrable, Merchandise Management, Commerce, Retail Management, Business Management, Economics.
- Strong commercial, Retail specific, Retail mathematics and business acumen,
- Strong financial and analytical skills; ability to analyse data to ensure acceptable return on investment is achieved.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including collaborating cross-functionally.
- Proven success driving category growth and delivering increased profit
- Demonstrated experience as a Retail Merchandise Buyer in a multi store fast paced environment.
- Experience with RMS point of sale and Shopify highly regarded
Other Criteria
- Toy, Gift, Homeware industry experience highly regarded
- National Police Check and Employee status Working with Children
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
