What is the Role:
* Maintain stock levels, supervise inventory, and ensure shelves are replenished.
* Develop and implement weekly advertising and promotional strategies.
* Coordinate with finance teams for budget preparation, invoice processing, and departmental reports.
* Ensure high-quality service delivery and provide training for team members.
* Streamline processes to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
* Lead and delegate responsibilities, and conduct weekly management review meetings.
* Provide timely reports on relevant matters.
* Develop and oversee a shrinkage strategy, including communication, education, monitoring, and support.
* Perform additional duties as requested by senior management.
About You:
* Proven management experience in a similar role, preferably in the supermarket retail industry.
* Must have extensive experience as a buyer, with the majority of the role focused on buying FMCG.
* Understanding of marketing to effectively collaborate with external marketing teams.
* Strong customer service focus and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience in leading and developing a team, including recruitment and training.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in IT and ability to analyse financial data.
* Knowledge of cost management, sales budgets, and supplier relationship building.
* Awareness and compliance with relevant legislation, such as WH&S and environmental regulations.
* Understanding of loss prevention regulations and the Food and Grocery Code of Conduct.
