Job description

Thanks for considering embarking on a journey with Pillow Talk! We call it a journey because for many of our colleagues that’s exactly what it’s been. Whether you’re interested in a horizontal or vertical career path, the opportunities at Pillow Talk are abundant - not even the sky is the limit.

By way of brief introduction, we are a well-established, on-trend home décor and linen retailer. From humble beginnings (some 47 years ago!), we’ve scaled to 68 stores across Australia and we're still growing! Our inspiration is drawn from the love and pursuit of comfort and immersing this beautifully simple concept into the lives of our customers. Home really is where the heart is, and for those of you who join us, that’s just how you’ll feel - at home!

Now is your opportunity to be part of the Pillow Talk Fabric, by joining us in this highly exciting Merchandise Planner role based at our enviable Darra Head Office.  As a Merchandise Planner at Pillow Talk, you’ll play an essential role in providing our buying and marketing teams with product performance insights to inform marketing, range planning, and buying decisions. Using inventory, marketing, and sales data, you’ll be expected to undertake operational and commercial analysis to help ensure the right stock is in the right place and to prevent over-forecasting on core and seasonal product lines. You’ll keep an eagle eye on where products are at in their life cycle, ultimately ensuring the business does not carry an unnecessary excess of inventory.  You’ll be instrumental in pioneering and driving the continuous development of Pillow Talks forecasting models and will be accountable for reducing our exposure to inventory and financial risk. This is a new role to support growth and expansion, which will work amongst 5 other planners.
