In this role, you'll:
safely carry out duties associated with the welding and fabrication of ferrous and other metals, including marking out of work and structural grade welding.
The Metal Fabricator is responsible for:
- Safely complete welding and fabrication of ferrous and other metals.
- Performing a wide range of routine and complex labouring/manual tasks, including using a variety of small plant and powered and non-powered hand tools to assist with the completion of work activities. Work is completed under limited supervision and may be done in a team environment or independently.
- Conducting safety checks on all plant and equipment used, complete basic maintenance such as refuelling and checking fluid and maintain records and reports to ensure the safe use of plant items.
- Solving routine problems that arise, referring to standard guidelines and manuals, and collaborating with supervisors and managers to resolve complex issues to minimise risks and achieve work goals.
- Guiding team members, leading the work output of a small unit as required, to develop capability and ensure team tasks are completed effectively.
- Understanding and maintaining knowledge of WHS legislation, policies and procedures, assessing and controlling risks, record management and industry requirements to minimise risk and model safe work behaviour.

About you
You are a motivated Metal Fabricator that has hands on experience in metal fabrication including complex welding projects.
You have successfully completed a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade or equivalent.
You hold a current Construction Industry White Card and a current unrestricted NSW Motor Vehicle driver's licence.
You must have a willingness to undertake any legislated or internal licensing or ticketing requirements as directed.
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to work independently and within a team environment.
With a strong focus on safety, you have the ability to identify, communicate and report environmental hazards in the workplace and understand the quality requirements of the tasks to be performed within this position.

The wage range for this position is $1,384.20 to $1,453.60 per week plus superannuation and allowances.
This role also includes 4 weeks annual leave and a 9-day fortnight.
