Job location

Our Corporate Office is located at Thomas Embling Hospital just 15 minutes north of the city. Due to our announced expansion across all Directorates, we have a need for experienced like-minded professionals to join our team to support our growing services. Our Directorates includes Thomas Embling Hospital, Prison Operations and our Community Directorate with highly skilled disciplines including Nursing, Lived Experience, Occupational Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychologists and Social Work. We have an outstanding L&D and discipline Educator co-hort that continually upskill our already skilled and supportive team.

About the Role:

In line with Forensicare's 'Cloud first' strategy, Forensicare has implemented Microsoft 365 E5 and has moved most of its core infrastructure to the cloud. This has significantly transformed the provision of IT services within Forensicare. At the same time, with the expansion of the Thomas Embling Hospital, there is a significant increase in cloud-managed physical network complexity. The networking environment is Cisco Meraki with Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series and Fortinet NGFW SD-WAN being implemented for resilience and security.

The role of Cloud and NetworkOperations Officer offers the opportunity for somebody to ensure 'business-as-usual' is delivered more successfully and securely; that the Cloud and Network environment delivers the day-to-day IT services, according to recognised service standards and operations within a secure, shared-service cloud model based on Microsoft Azure and other network cloud-managed environments.

The Cloud and Network Operations officer will have a professional, hands-on approach to the complete Microsoft stack with special emphasis on managing all Microsoft 365 E5 features, security, networking, troubleshooting and documentation requirements

Duties:

  • Provide specialist advice and ensure best practices are implemented for managing Microsoft servers within the Azure environment to successfully manage applications.
  • Manage the networking environment, specifically Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst 9500 series switching and the suite of FortiGate products, including Fortinet NGFW.
  • Manage the integration and configuration of approved cloud applications.
  • Ensure accurate and professional documentation of all systems, while adhering to change control procedures.
  • Participate in network architecture planning and delivery to suit both current and future architectural requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced network and business application management in the cloud environment and maintain clear and understandable documentation for both physical and cloud Network Operations..

About You:

  • Experience with the Forti-family of devices and management.
  • Excellent network configuration and architecture planning skills. 
  • At least five years' experience managing the timely completion of Level 2 and 3 support tickets in a Microsoft environment.
  • Sound knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure configuration and administrative practice.
  • Highly developed technical and problem-solving skills.

What you need:

  • In-depth experience with Microsoft technologies, including Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Microsoft 365 E5, InTune, Azure server management and Networking.
  • In-depth experience with network configuration and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in support of computer systems in a service desk environment
  • A current Victorian driver's licence
  • Passion to succeed.
