Extrastaff are currently seeking experienced Mig Welders for a Temp to Perm opportunity located in Greenacre!
The Client:
A Specialist leader in their field located in Greenacre with onsite parking and also accessible by public transport.
For you:
• $45 p/hr working Day shift
• Greenacre location
• Free onsite parking
• Temp to perm opportunities available for proven performs
The Role:
- (Day shift 7:30am - 3:30pm)
- Monday to Friday
• Mig Welding
• Plan and drawing Reading
• Inspection of final product
• Manual handling duties
• Measuring and marking work pieces using straightedges, rules, and calipers.
• Cutting and smoothing metal components using portable grinders.
• Reading and interpreting production drawings in order to lay out a welding project.
• Collaborating with project managers and metal tradesperson to ensure smooth work operations.
• Maintain welding safety guidelines and regulations to ensure a risk-free work environment.
• Organise and clean welding equipment on a regular basis.
• Preparing materials for welding by cleaning metal surface using scrapers and grinders to remove rough spots. Bore holes through metal workpieces using a drill press.
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers to inspect angles, grooves or gap allowances.
The Candidate:
To be successful in obtaining this role you will have:
• 2 years Mig Welding experience
• Experience working with Carbon steel
• Trade Certified
• An excellent ability to read plans, technical drawings and interpret shop drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent WHS knowledge
• An ability to commit to the role in an ongoing capacity
• Must be able to work autonomously
• You must love being on the tools!
• Forklift license would be advantageous
