THE OPPORTUNITY

As part of the implementation of our new Fleet Management System (FMS), we are currently looking for two motivated Mine Control Supervisorsto join our Technology Operation & Mining Production Teams, in newly-created roles.

Initially reporting to the Superintendent Technology Operation, the Mine Control Supervisorswill oversee implementation of a new Fleet Management System.

Once operational, the roles will then form part of the Mining Production Department and be responsible for the Supervision of a team of five Mine Controllers, as well as managing the Fleet Management System and relevant data on a day-to-day basis.

The aim is to bring these positions in early for familiarisation with the site, its operations, and the mining production teams - providing opportunity to help build the system they will maintain and operate and allow time for the creation of the operational processes - before the FMS system is ready to operate.

These exciting new opportunities will essentially begin as a ‘blank canvas’, allowing the successful candidates the ability to build their team from scratch, then develop and implement a new system and control room on a site that hasn’t had an FMS before.

Positions are permanent, on an 8/6 FIFO roster (day shift) and based at our Pilgangoora Lithium Mining Operation in the Pilbara WA. We anticipate an Initial period of at least 12 months’ site based, with the potential to then move to Perth-based operations in the future.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• FMS Operation: Monitor and operate the Fleet Management System to track, control, and optimize the movement of equipment, vehicles, and personnel in the mine.
• Supervision: Provide leadership and supervision to a team of FMS operators and Mine Control personnel, ensuring efficient coordination and communication.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and procedures to minimize accidents and hazards related to equipment operation and movement within the mine.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data from the FMS to make informed decisions on equipment assignments, maintenance schedules, and routing.
• Efficiency Improvement: Continuously work on enhancing the efficiency and productivity of mine operations by optimizing vehicle and equipment routes, reducing idle time, and minimizing fuel consumption.
• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with mine staff, equipment operators, and other stakeholders to coordinate the movement of equipment and ensure smooth operation.
• Troubleshooting: Address and resolve any technical issues related to the FMS system promptly, collaborating with IT or technical support as needed.
• Training: Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to FMS operators and other mine personnel to ensure they understand and operate the system effectively.

ABOUT YOU

As an experienced Mine Control Supervisor, you will ideally have:

• Proven experience operating Fleet Management Systems in a mining or heavy equipment operation environment.
• Sound Supervisory / Frontline Leadership skills and experience.
• 2 years’ experience as a Mine Controller.
• Suitable operational experience with large mobile mining equipment.
• Excellent knowledge of statutory safety requirements relevant to FMS processes.
• Current WA Driver’s Licence: HR preferred.
• Coaching and mentoring skills and experience will be highly desirable, as will experience with or exposure to building and implantation of new Fleet Management Systems.
